How Lilt pays: Hourly Rate Model
Lilt pays linguists based on an hourly rate, which is negotiated with each linguist individually. When working in the tool, linguists do not need to track their time or submit invoices. Work is counted from Monday to Sunday (PST time). The Lilt platform has built-in technology that is able to capture working time, and we issue payouts for this work every Tuesday PST through Payoneer.
Where to find hours worked
Information about the number of hours worked will appear in the info section of a project, on the right sidebar. Simply select the info button on the project Kanban card to open the information section for the project.
It should be noted that the time spent working will not update live as work progresses. Rather, hours worked will be updated approximately every 3 to 4 hours. The time tracker will indicate when the last update of time spent working was made.
The time format will be shown in decimal form. For example, if a translator spends 2 hours and 27 minutes, it will be shown as 2.45 hours. The information is only viewable while the project is in a non-archived state. Please note that once the project is archived, the information will be inaccessible.

Why we chose this model
We know that WPH speed for a linguist can vary based on language pair, content type, and MT suggestion accuracy. This hourly payment model allows for fairer compensation for linguists' work.
