Translation

Upload files (documents, presentations, websites) and translate them into multiple languages. The agent can recommend translation methods based on document type—choose Instant Translation for quick turnaround or Verified Translation for quality-critical content. You can also get quotes before starting, track progress in real-time, and create or use custom translation models.

Content Creation

Generate content like blog posts, training materials, or marketing copy in any language. Use professional templates for consistent output, then translate your content into additional languages as needed.

Terminology Management

Extract key terms from documents, websites, or search results to build custom glossaries (termbases). These help ensure consistent translations across projects, especially for technical or specialized content.

Insights and Analytics

Track translation quality over time and monitor AI accuracy to inform your translation method choices. Generate customizable reports with graphs and tables, and download charts and CSVs for further analysis.

Team and Project Management

Automatically assign translators and reviewers, manage workflow stages for quality control, and track assignments and project timelines.

Limitations

  • Cannot create new LILT accounts (you need an existing account with API access)
  • 2GB file size limit for uploads
  • AI translations are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate; human review is recommended for important content
  • Cannot accurately represent current spend to date
  • Cannot process file formats that LILT doesn’t support
  • Cannot modify account permissions or user roles
  • Cannot create or use connector integrations
The agent works best with modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari). Large projects may have slower performance, and some features require specific LILT subscription levels.

Getting Started

Step 1: Start a Conversation

Start by telling the agent what you want to do: “I’d like to translate a document,” “Can you help me create a blog post?” or “I need to build a glossary for my company.”

Step 2: Upload Your Content

If you’re working with files, the agent will guide you through the upload process. You can upload single files or entire folders. Supported formats include Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and more. If you’re working with text, paste it in the chat and ask the agent to translate it.

Step 3: Specify Your Needs

Tell the agent what languages you need (e.g., “English to Spanish”), what type of content you’re working with (e.g., “marketing materials,” “technical documentation”), and your quality requirements (e.g., “I need this to be perfect” vs. “This is just for internal use”).

Step 4: Review and Approve

The agent will show you a summary of what it plans to do, ask for your approval before proceeding, and give you options to modify settings.

Step 5: Let the Agent Work

Once you approve, the agent handles the technical details. You’ll get updates on progress and can ask questions or make changes along the way.

Things to Avoid

Sensitive Information

Avoid uploading confidential business documents, personal information, or sensitive data. Don’t share passwords, API keys, or other credentials, and be cautious with financial or legal documents.

Expectations for Large Projects

Large files (over 50MB) may take time to process, and projects with multiple languages and human review take longer. Quality takes time, especially for human-reviewed translations.

Skipping Steps

Always review the plan the agent creates before approving. Provide details when asked—this helps the agent give you better results. Don’t skip the confirmation step.

Doing Too Much at Once

Start with one translation or content creation project first to learn the basics before attempting complex workflows. Ask for help if something isn’t working.

Forgetting to Review

Review translations before using them in production, verify terminology in your glossaries, and test content in different languages to ensure it makes sense.

Instead of “translate this,” say “translate this marketing brochure from English to Spanish for our Latin American customers.” Instead of “create content,” say “create a 500-word blog post about AI in healthcare for medical professionals.”
