LILT Assist enables you to extract, organize, and maintain your brand’s technical terms and proprietary language through a conversational interface. By managing your terminology at the source, Assist ensures that your custom AI models and human reviewers remain consistent across every project and locale.

Key Features

  • Automated Term Extraction: Scan documents, websites, or technical manuals to instantly identify high-frequency terms and industry-specific shorthand.
  • Multilingual Glossary Building: Generate term translations across multiple target languages simultaneously to build a unified global reference.
  • Interactive Review & Edit: Refine extracted terms directly within the chat. Add definitions, approve suggested translations, or remove irrelevant entries.
  • Data Source Integration: Automatically upload finalized termbases to your LILT Data Sources to enforce consistency in future translation and creation workflows.
  • Consistency Enforcement: Ensure that your company’s specifically trained models always use your preferred brand language, reducing the need for manual corrections later.

How to Use

  1. To get started, use a prompt (e.g., “I want to build a glossary”) or click the Generate termbase card.
  2. Tell the agent what content to analyze:
    • Click + to upload files (see supported file formats).
    • Provide a link to a website or documentation page for the agent to crawl.
  3. Identify which languages need translations (e.g., “English to Spanish and Chinese”).
  4. Review the Agent’s proposed plan and confirm to begin.
  5. Assist will present a list of identified terms and proposed translations. Review these directly in the chat interface.
  6. Ask for changes to specific terms (e.g., “Change the translation for ‘Cloud Storage’ to ‘Almacenamiento en la nube’”) or provide definitions for clarity.
  7. Once satisfied, ask the agent to upload the glossary to your project’s Data Source for immediate use.

Best Practices for Terminology Prompts

To build a precise and useful termbase, be clear and direct about the scope of the extraction. Avoid vague requests; instead, define the specific material and the intended outcome. Use these details to build a strong prompt:
  • Action: What should the agent do? (Extract, translate, update, check)
  • Object: What is the source material? (PDF, URL, existing list)
  • Parameters: Which languages and how many terms? (“Top 20 terms,” “English to French”)
